Tips From The Top – Volume 2‘, the sixth tutorial DVD I have produced in the Yamaha Club’s ‘Playing Yamaha’ series, is now available.

A second helping of easy to follow mini-workshops and step-by-step demonstrations from the Yamaha Club archive. Glyn Madden and James Woodcock present a further selection of hints and tips as we answer some of the Yamaha player’s most frequently asked questions.

The DVD also includes a trailer previewing 10 original compositions I created, that will be available soon on Audio CD from the Yamaha Club!

  • Saving Registrations
Probably the most frequently asked question. A basic guide to using the Registration Memory buttons to store set-ups that you want to keep.
  • Working with ‘Song’ Files
Whether you know them as ‘Song’ or ‘MIDI’ files, this section gives an insight into how they can be played and – shows how they can be displayed to best effect on the screen.
  • Percussion Sounds
Ever fancied livening up your performance with a drum solo? Your keyboard or Clavinova has all the sounds you need to get started.
  • Personalising the One Touch Settings
If the O.T.S. buttons don’t provide the voices you would have ideally chosen for a piece of music you can customise them with sounds that are just right for your performance.
  • Technology Explained
With his knowledge of all things computer based, James Woodcock is the ideal man to guide you through some of the technical issues you might encounter when using a modern arranger keyboard.

Yamaha PSR-1000, PSR-1100, PSR-1500, PSR-2000, PSR-2100, PSR-3000, PSR-S700 and PSR-S900 series, Tyros (1), Tyros2, Tyros3 and Tyros4 keyboards.
