I love a good backwards compatibility update for the Xbox 360 as every time I anxiously check the list for a game I might still have in my original Xbox collection.
The highlights for this December 2006 update include Dead or Alive Ultimate and Shenmue II.

A nice lenghy list and hopefully you will have a few there you will want to pop into your Xbox 360 to relive some classic gaming. I am still praying for the day though when Midtown Madness 3 appears as that game was so much fun online!

Help please – My two kids have xbox 360’s and I have dowloaded the update for backwards compatibilty on six different discs and get the same error every time – disc is unreadable. Xbox telephone support not very supportive. I have made sure the file is called default.xex as stated and still no joy. Can you please help?
Make sure you are following these instructions:

Make sure you extract the file (default.xex) from the Zip file.
If you are still having problems, may be a good idea to get the consoles connected online (even if only for a few moments) then when you insert an older compatible Xbox game, it can download the update automatically.
