Love of Retro Gaming & Modern Tech

I visited ZZAP! Live 2025 – an event that covers each and every Commodore system including the Amiga family with a variety of retro consoles and computers from not just Commodore, but other brands too…

It was at ZAPP Live I bumped into Laurence Bennion, who was exhibiting his selection of fantastic ultraviolet overlays for the Vectrex console. The Vectrex was originally released way back in 1982 with its ‘vector’ based graphics. This technology results in a stunningly sharp display that is built right into the console itself – turning the Vectrex into a very unique gaming device.

Laurence was kind enough to agree to being interviewed, so along I went with my recording gear to find out all about his modern UV overlays, their experimental creation, our love for the Vectrex, demonstrations of the technology and how his new Vectrex modification brings a new 3D perspective to enjoying the console.

I hope you enjoy my video.
