PXR MIDI Player is developed and maintained by James Woodcock of Pixel Refresh ("the Author"). The official product page is at pixelrefresh.com/product/pxr-midi-music-player-for-macos.

1. Software Provided "As Is"#

PXR MIDI Player is provided free of charge and on an "as is" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Use of this software is at your own risk.

2. No Liability#

The Author accepts no liability for any damage, data loss, or hardware issues arising from use of this software, including but not limited to interactions with connected MIDI hardware or audio devices.

3. Updates and Support#

PXR MIDI Player is a hobby project, developed by one person in his spare time. The software is under active development, but updates, fixes, and support are provided as time allows and are not guaranteed. Features may be added, changed, or removed in future updates.

4. Licence#

PXR MIDI Player is licensed, not sold. You may install and use the application on any Mac you own or control, for personal and commercial use. You may not redistribute the application, host it for download elsewhere, repackage it, decompile it, or reverse-engineer it without prior written permission from James Woodcock. The application's source code is not made available publicly.

5. Trademarks#

Names of MIDI hardware, formats, and standards (including Roland, Yamaha, GS, XG, GM, SC-55, SC-88, MU-series, NS5R, SoundFont, and similar marks) are the property of their respective owners and are used here for compatibility and identification only. PXR MIDI Player is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies.

6. Privacy#

PXR MIDI Player does not collect, transmit, or store personal data. The application checks a release manifest hosted on Pixel Refresh's website to detect new versions; this request contains no identifying information.

7. Third-Party Content#

Voice library data and SysEx command definitions are derived from publicly documented MIDI specifications. Any SoundFont (.sf2) or DLS file you load remains subject to the licence under which you obtained it.

The Score window renders musical notation using the Bravura music font and its accompanying glyph metadata, © Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH, with Reserved Font Name "Bravura", licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (scripts.sil.org/OFL). The full licence text ships with the application in OFL.txt.

As this is a free project I can't promise a response time or guarantee a fix for every issue, but your feedback is always welcome and helps shape future updates.

9. Changes to These Terms#

These terms may be updated in future versions of the software. Continued use of the application constitutes acceptance of the current version.
