Playback Queue
The queue is a short list of tracks lined up to play next, sitting apart from the main playlist order. It is just the thing when you want to bump a few tracks to the front without disturbing how everything else is arranged.
- Open the queue with
⌃Q(Control+Q), or Playback → Queue.
What you can do#
- See upcoming tracks with their filenames and durations.
- Drag to reorder the queued tracks.
- Double-click a track to jump straight to it.
- Right-click a track for options such as removing it.
- Clear the queue from the toolbar to remove everything that is lined up.
How tracks get into the queue#
- Right-click a track in the playlist and choose Add to Queue, or Play Next in Queue to put it at the front.
- Tracks are also added as you move through the playlist, and through the Next Track action.
- The queue holds your upcoming choices during a listening session, then clears itself when you stop, so you start fresh each time.
Tip
The quickest way in: select a track in the playlist and press Q. Select several first and the right-click menu adds them all to the queue in one go.
