PXR Log
The PXR Log is a behind-the-scenes record of what the app is up to. Day to day you will rarely give it a thought, but it is the first place to look when something misbehaves, and the single most useful thing to send when you want to report a problem.
- Open it with
⌘5(Display → PXR Log).
What it shows#
- Files as they load, and any problems reading them.
- The MIDI output port and device details (including device IDs).
- Connections and disconnections of MIDI devices.
- Timing information such as jitter, useful for diagnosing how smooth playback is.
MTC Diagnostics#
If you are chasing an external timecode (MTC) drop-out, turn on MTC Diagnostics in the log. It records every incoming timecode gap and rate change in detail, so a saved log captures exactly what happened on the MIDI bus. Leave it off for normal listening.
Saving and clearing#
- Save writes the current log to a text file you can keep or attach to a report.
- Clear empties it.
Reporting a problem#
If you hit an issue, the most useful thing you can include is a saved PXR Log (with MTC Diagnostics turned on first, if it is a sync problem). Send it using the contact form linked in the footer of any page. See also Troubleshooting.
