The Main Window
When PXR opens, this is what you see: the full player, with everything to hand in a single window. Here is a quick tour of the main parts, with links to the pages that cover each in detail.
The layout#
- An LCD bar across the top, a retro display showing the track title, time, tempo and format, with an effects strip just beneath it. See The Visualiser for the LCD and its colour themes.
- The 16-channel visualiser filling the centre, a live picture of every channel as it plays. See The Visualiser.
- Transport controls along the bottom, where you play, pause and seek, skip between tracks, and adjust tempo and pitch. See Playback & Transport.
- The playlist, which slides out as a drawer beside the player. See The Playlist.
- The menus along the top of the screen, which hold everything else. See the Menu Reference.
Making room, or going deeper#
- Prefer something smaller? Switch to the Mini Player or the Compact Player. The Player Views page compares all three.
- To resize the whole window, use Zoom In, Zoom Out and Reset Zoom (
⌘+,⌘-,⌘0). - Want the visualiser filling the screen? The green full-screen button opens the Presentation View across the whole display. The player's layout is a fixed size, so rather than stretch it, that button gives you the clean full-screen visualisation instead. Press Escape to come back.
- Open the deeper tools from the menus: the Mixer, the GS and XG effect monitors, the SysEx Console and more.
