The Sega Dreamcast, launched in 1999, was sadly Sega’s final home console. It featured a built-in modem for online play and introduced VMU (Visual Memory Unit) for additional gameplay functions with a cute little screen. Known for its innovative hardware and games like “Sonic Adventure” and “Shenmue,” the Dreamcast aimed to push the boundaries of gaming technology powered by PowerVR graphics. Despite its short lifespan and competition from other consoles, it remains a beloved system among enthusiasts for its unique library and ahead-of-its-time features.
