Gamers have been wondering when Sony would do their own podcast based on the already amazingly successful Major Nelson (Larry Hryb – Xbox Live Director of Programming) from Microsoft. I was amazed to find though that it was completely an utterly dreadful. This is where podcasting becomes a joke when a corporation uses it as a tool for marketing and not information!

Don’t get me wrong, I do podcasting for fun so should be considered an amateur at best, however anyone who listens to Sony’s Podcast will be able to tell one thing above all others that makes it absolutely pathetic… It sounds completely scripted from start to finish. Not at any point during the podcast do you feel you are actually learning something spontaneous from any of the guests. You may as well be listening to an audio book, although with those at least the actors give the story some life and interest.

Sony should be in the podcasting arena as it is a great way to connect with your community, but this is a terrible corporate way of advertising with scripts and no heart. Sony try again please!

  • Wow…just…wow. That was pretty bad, not just from a 360 fanboy point of view but just from a Podcast point of view. Very poor…1/10 for effort 8/10 for comedy value.
