I still have so many reservations about the new Transformers based movie that is to be released next year, however here is some news that at last has really perked my interest:

Excellent I say! Now we have something from the past for us original Transformers fans, but there is more news from the Transformers The Movie – 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD website:
Sony BMG Home Entertainment has gone to painstaking lengths to put together the ultimate package that will surely appeal to the huge, passionate and multi-generational TRANSFORMERS fan base. For the 20th anniversary edition, Sony BMG Home Entertainment completely re-mastered and color-corrected the film and will present Optimus Prime, Megatron and the rest of the star-studded Autobots and Decepticons in true splendor through three distinct versions:
The main extra is the 16:9 aspect ratio (widescreen), that is to be released with this DVD instead of the standard 4:3 ratio we have had thus far with any DVD release of the original Transformers movie. I just hope they do a HD DVD release of this version and then I will be even more excited! Thanks to Nick for the Peter Cullen news.
