For a few years now, my site has been represented by a logo which is no more than a photo of myself taken by the talented Daniel Hughes Photography. With this photo, I later removed the background and added a circle and that was basically it – my site logo and identity. However, I was craving something a little more unique, something that would better illustrate this is my website, but also just as important to reflect the gaming, technology and retro topics.
And here it is in all its glory! Created by artist Stoo Cambridge, best known for his work with Sensible Software (Cannon Fodder, Sensible Soccer etc).

I have been pondering how to achieve this for months and then inspiration finally came in the way of the Retro Man Cave Kickstarter campaign. Neil (the Retro Man you might say) I assist as his researcher – finding interviews, writing the initial question set and the all important general communication with the guests before the interview takes place. Neil has recently launched a Kickstarter, where he has authored a book covering many of his interviews on his show ‘The Retro Tea Break’, with additional exclusive content.
One of the options for purchasing the book was to pay a little more for a set of pixel art collectors cards, created by Stoo Cambridge. I was immediately drawn (forgive the pun) to his art style and how well Neil’s likeness appeared. So, I contacted Stoo himself and hoped he would be interested in converting my logo to something more retro pixel in style and he agreed.
So who am I and what do I do? Well, my name is Stoo Cambridge and I’m an artist and creative consultant from Essex, England. I’ve been creating art and computer graphics since the late 1980s and I’m probably best known for my work at Sensible Software.

I hope you like the new logo, which I will begin using on my website and social platforms. If you are interested in Stoo’s skills, make sure you pop along to his website.
