Today I visited the Nene Valley Railway in Wansford and finishing up in Peterborough, which features a number of steam and diesel locomotives.

Equipped with my trusty Panasonic HD camcorder, I captured various stages of the locomotive change over between the City of Peterborough and a guest that encouraged a beaming smile for many of the younger attendees – Thomas the Engine (or as I remember him from my childhood, Thomas the Tank Engine).

Based in Peterborough, Nene Valley Railway is a steam engine and diesel locomotive heritage attraction. The railway runs along part of the original London and North Western Railway line from Northampton to Peterborough, encompassing the stations of Yarwell, Wansford, Ferry Meadows, and Orton Mere.

The line is a delightful trip through the countryside and at just over seven miles long, plenty of opportunities to look out of the window at our green and pleasant land. A very enjoyable day and certainly recommended.

I hope you enjoy the 10 minute compilation video I created.
