Rather than hosting the images on this site, we use another site here called Gravatar:

“A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an 80รƒโ€”80 pixel avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums, so why not on weblogs?”

Make sure you are registered on this website and when you register for free on Gravatar, make sure you use the same e-mail address as you do here. All you need to do then is upload your chosen avatar (max 80x80pixels) and wait a while so they can check it is a safe image to share on this and any other compatible site you may read.

Please note, that if you upload an image that is ‘not’ the same pixels in height as width, it ‘will’ stretch the image which is not a good thing!

  • Looks a lot better than a question mark that I made as the default for no avatar and works on other compatible blogs as well :)
