The Microsoft Xbox One launched in 2013, several years after the Xbox 360 before it. Originally launching with the Kinect 2.0 peripheral included, which inflated the price of the kit – the Xbox One initially struggled compared to its rival the Sony PlayStation 4, which was cheaper and faster. The Xbox One eventually ditched the Kinect and found its stride, but by that point it was a tough upward battle for the console. Xbox One X launched in 2017, becoming the fastest gaming console of the generation, allowing Xbox gamers to hold their head high again.
