Auslogics BoostSpeed 4 – My Hero, My Saviour, My Goodness

Boost Speed 4Recently I have been talking quite a bit about Windows re-installation and recovery. These have to be the major flaws of both Windows and many of the applications that are available.

I had to admit just before we reached the year 2008 that I would require a complete format and re-installation of my computer to get everything running up to speed. This job is a major time sapper, one of which I try and avoid at all costs, but I thought I would try the Auslogics BoostSpeed software before I went down that road again.

I have been using their free disk defragmentation program for some time now with great success, so when I heard of a registry cleaner that might fix my start up errors, I was hopeful, yet sceptical due to previous experience with other software from other companies that state similar virtues. For about a month now my PC when booting Windows Vista would hang for about 2 minutes freezing my screen and then continue to load. Very frustrating!

This software (which is available as a trial for 15 days) features disk defragmentation, Internet optimisations, disk cleaners and maybe the most important of all, a registry cleaner among other things. After running the registry cleaner it found 850 errors and then proceeded to repair them. Minutes later my system could finally see life again and booted up without any slow down at all.

Start programs faster. Speed up computer start time. Increase Internet speed, optimize your Internet Explorer, Firefox and E-mail programs.

Boost Speed will clean up disks and the Registry to speed up your computer and tweak Windows to its peak performance.

I always get nervous when software tries to optimise anything on Windows. I remember countless programs in the past I have tried, which supposedly repairs and increases speed to your computer, only to then experience many more problems because of the alterations. This application seems to have done the job remarkably well and has saved me at least several hours of messing about with a re-installation. That has to be worth something!
