There are not many people who revel in the prospect of waking up in the morning. In fact, the morning routine of waking up to a ridiculously loud noise, rubbing your eyes and popping to the bathroom is hardly the story of what dreams are made of, but duty calls.

Travel clocks can be even worse, with their quite frankly mediocre designs and unclear little screens. Now wouldnโ€™t it be lovely to have something that imitates the clock radio we have at home, but joins you on your adventures?

Nothing to be Alarmed About!

Our humble alarm clocks havenโ€™t changed a great deal and maybe there is a reason for that. That traditional digital design of featuring generously sized numbering combined with that almost hypnotic blinking second indicator are enough to send anybody to sleep.

At a glance, the time is revealed and although your immediate reaction is to sigh – conjoined with a chunter before slamming your head back on the plumped pillow – you at least know exactly how far away that same old boring routine is.

A Wake Up Call

The โ€˜Alarm Clockโ€™ app replicates this familiar design and as long as you can prop your phone against a sturdy object, you have an alarm clock that fills all your requirements without resorting to those often cheap and nasty specialist travel clocks.

Why Reinvent the Wheel?

Alarm clock doesnโ€™t strive for yet another solution for our waking up needs. Instead it follows the already set out blueprints provided to the latter. The temptation would have been to take advantage of the brilliantly vibrant screen on modern phones and turn it into a colourful rainbow of colours, but why go to all that trouble and possibly ruin what already works so well in the real world.

Bright Ideas

Adjusting the brightness for those tired droopy peepers is essential for creating that relaxing environment. After all, the entire goal is to get some much needed sleep.

If you need to adjust the brightness in the middle of the night, the last thing you will be wanting to do is to dig down through a few menus, locate the relevant settings and begin the adjustments. Alarm Clock has a far better and effortless method.

By dragging your finger down on the screen, the brightness will drop depending on how far your finger travels. Raising your finger up on the display will increase the brightness.

If your phone is standing upright, the digital clock face will appear quite narrow, however tilting the phone on to its side will allow the digits to fill the entire screen.
